Front of House
In theatre, the front of house is any area accessible to the public like the entrance, the lobby, the seating, etc. The Marketing Intern is responsible for multiple upkeeps of the front of house materials. For some materials, I had to circulate drafts from our ad agency for approval. This was usual materials like house boards, casings, and underlings. When we began renovation work on the Broadway theatre, I had to circulate the scaffolding designs. At the off-Broadway theatre, I was responsible for putting up the "lobby sliders". These are large poster board ads in the lower lobby. I was also responsible for hanging the boards in the upper lobby area. Every show had a houseboard and a headshot board. For Golden Shield, I also hung up a QR code board that gave the audience more information about the show. For both the Broadway and off-Broadway theatre, I was responsible for ordering the "cast sliders". Cast sliders are 12x2 inch cards that list the name of each cast members at the entrance to the theatre. These are also used to inform the audience when an understudy is performing. These types of sliders included other information such as the stage managers or any effect warnings. Below are some photos of front of house materials I helped with in the prior mentioned capacities.
