Intern Seminars
Interns at Manhattan Theatre Club are required to attend weekly educational seminars. Each
Friday,we attended one or two seminars with different MTC professionals from each department. These
seminars are designed to teach us how non-profit theatre organizations operate as a whole. This was especially helpful to me as the Marketing Intern because I worked with many other department. Through these seminars I found some new areas of interest and a deeper value of overall internal operations. We also had seminars hosted by HR on tips for applying for jobs, resume and cover letter feedback, and mock job interviews. These seminars truly prepared me to take the next steps towards employment after my internship. On top of the internal seminars, MTC interns also had three Intern Mixers with interns/apprentices from similar programs in the industry. The purpose of these was primarily networking opportunities. Through these mixers I made new connections, learned how other theatre organizations differ from ours, and even scoped out future programs.
